Marisa Gold is an intuitive multidisciplinary dance artist with a passion for all things soulful. She has trained in a variety of Modern/Contemporary styles, with a BFA in dance (SFU), certificate of completion from The Ailey school Independent Study program (NYC), and The Graham School (NYC). Marisa has performed spoken-word at various slams across BC and has self-published a handmade hardcover poetry book called The In Between. Her writing and voice over work have also been featured in eight experimental dance films, some of which were created in collaboration with her partner, filmmaker Darryl Ahye. Marisa's artistic influences are rooted in ancestral dreaming. She feels powerful and expansive when remembering all who have come before her in self-expression. She is an expressive dancer, poet, vocalist, choreographer, stylist, and actor whose work is embedded in self-reflection, a deep love for humanity and reverence for our planet earth.
Ziyian Kwan (she/her) is a first generation Chinese Filipina settler who works as a dance artist on the unceded, ancestral and occupied territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Since 1988, she has performed over 100 original works by an eclectic range of choreographers on international stages and in 2017, received The Dance Centre’s Isadora Award for excellence in performance. Her creations, which have been performed across Canada and in Europe, are collages of imagery, movement, and language. Ziyian is the founding Artistic Director of Odd Meridian Arts, with which she visions and stewards creative adventures in collaboration with artists from across disciplines. With Odd Meridian, Ziyian spearheaded Morrow, a cultural space that supports a growing community of creative. Energy at play, in bodies in worlds.
Peggy Lee is an improvising cellist and composer who leads and collaborates across numerous ensembles including her own groups – The Peggy Lee Band, Film In Music, and Echo Painting – and collective projects such as Waxwing, Handmade Blade and Beatings Are In The Body. Peggy also co-leads the Australian improvising quartet Open Thread (with Julien Wilson, Theo Carbo, and Dylan van der Schyff). Peggy has toured and recorded with many leading artists including Wayne Horvitz, Robin Holcomb, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Dave Douglas and Darius Jones. Peggy has also collaborated extensively in dance and theatre with companies and artists such as Odd Meridian, Kokoro Dance, EDAM, Machinenoisy, Electric Company, Ruby Slippers, Rumble Theatre and Western Gold.
Jessica Han (she/her) is a Taiwanese-Canadian lighting designer, technical director, production/stage manager, and filmmaker who is currently splitting her time between Taipei, Taiwan, and Vancouver, BC. She has been working and collaborating with local dance and theatre artists and companies since 2011.
